OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (ragingsquirrel):

what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Dayboo3, you cant do this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would you like to learn?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How did you get 4??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2.00

OpenStudy (ragingsquirrel):

I tried to teach her...

OpenStudy (lilg132):

3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's not the nearest dollar.... the .00 make it not a dollar anymore..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats right Dayboo!

OpenStudy (ragingsquirrel):

Claps

OpenStudy (lilg132):

dayboo i'll give you a clue, the answer is in your username !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3.00

OpenStudy (ragingsquirrel):

no, her question is 2.49 so that would round back down to $2 not $3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1.00

OpenStudy (anonymous):

.50

OpenStudy (lilg132):

raging squirrel explaint how?

OpenStudy (ragingsquirrel):

no, when you said 2.00 you were correct

OpenStudy (lilg132):

*explain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2.49 would round down.. if the 4 was a 5 then you would round up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Maybe you could better round it to 1, indeed... keeping the upcoming inflation in mind

OpenStudy (lilg132):

your wrong @Raging squirrel

OpenStudy (ragingsquirrel):

no im not...

OpenStudy (lilg132):

how explainnn???

OpenStudy (ragingsquirrel):

she said round to the nearest DOLLAR.

OpenStudy (lilg132):

HOW DO YOU ROUND NUMBERS !!!

OpenStudy (ragingsquirrel):

one second.

OpenStudy (lilg132):

2.49 tell me step by step what you get

OpenStudy (lilg132):

like how tyler did

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if it was 2.50 then it would be 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2.49 .. you look one number to the right of what place you want to round to.. if its a 5 or above round up. if its not round down

OpenStudy (lilg132):

tyler i want to hear ragingsquirrels great method of rounding just waiting for her to answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why don't you round of first to 2.5 and than to 3 ?!...... That's how some teachers used to round of grades, I liked it ><

OpenStudy (ragingsquirrel):

So if your number was 0.49, 49 is under 50 so that would round down to $0. If it was 0.50 or over, it would round up.

OpenStudy (ragingsquirrel):

Did that help? Also i'm a dude...

OpenStudy (lilg132):

haha dayboo3 whatever ragingsquirrel has taught you previously please forget everything, im only saying it for your own good

OpenStudy (lilg132):

sorry *his

OpenStudy (ragingsquirrel):

lemme draw up some examples

OpenStudy (lilg132):

please dont bother your wrong in the way you do rounding

OpenStudy (ragingsquirrel):

Ok, if the cents are above 49, you round up to the next dollar. lets say i was trying to round $20.32. 32 is under 50, so the answer would be $20.00. BUT, lets say it was $20.65? 65 is over 49 so the answer would be $21.00. Anyone care to back me up on this?

OpenStudy (lilg132):

i disagree

OpenStudy (ragingsquirrel):

how?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can see if answer right

OpenStudy (lilg132):

you start with the last decimal point lets use 2.49 as an example so we start with 9 and 9 if the number is 5 or over you round up, which 9 is so you round up and get 1 added onto the next number in line which is 4 4 turns to 5 because 9 get rounded up and because of the rule i stated before 5 or over gets rounded up 5 will also get rounded up giving youuuuuu $3 ! remember to click good answer :)

OpenStudy (ragingsquirrel):

No, that would be rounding up cents. She only asked for the number to be rounded up to the nearest dollar.

OpenStudy (lilg132):

rounding up cents also means rounding up dollars because thats what it does in the end

OpenStudy (ragingsquirrel):

ALL she wanted was the dollars to be rounded up. Nothing else.

OpenStudy (lilg132):

THAT involves in rounding the cents up, even your wrong way of doing it involes in cents being rounded up and down

OpenStudy (lilg132):

haha yes they got the answer how i did 218.52 2 is rounded down leaving 5 there 218.5 5 is always rounded up giving you 219 !!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You dont look at the 2.. only the 5

OpenStudy (ragingsquirrel):

THANK YOU!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You look at the 2 when you round the cents up.

OpenStudy (ragingsquirrel):

I've been trying to tell him/her that for the past 15 mins.

OpenStudy (lilg132):

i give up
