OpenStudy (alison123):

Where is glucose made in plant cells?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

as far as I know, gluconeogenesis in plants is roughly the same as in animal cells (the important part, at least...there are some tricky mechanisms that animals don't have). and this part mostly takes place in three compartiments. the first one is the mitochondrium lumen (up to PEP), the second one is the cytosol (up to glucose-6-phosphate, if I am not mistaken) and the third one is the endoplasmatic reticulum, where the last step is done (G6Pase sits in the ER, as far as I know). glucose is then stored as starch or as glycogen.
