solving for y help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\tan (\sqrt{y})=x/2+C_{2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\sqrt{y}=\tan^{-1}(\frac{x}{2}+C_2)\] i guess is a start. maybe i don't understand the question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can i always divide by tan or is it only under special circumstances? this is what the original problem was \[y'=\sqrt{y}\cos (\sqrt{y})\] and this is what my answer is \[y=\tan^{-1} (x/2 +C _{2})^2\]
