Anyone have any tricks to factorizing polynomials with degrees of 3,4,5,6 etc. to solve higher order differential equations? such as y'''''+12y''''+104'''+408y''+1156y'=0

I can't seem to find any methods to finding the roots for these polynomials. If anyone has any tips or tricks that'd be great, I have a final coming and really worried he might give something to the 6th degree

When you get into really high order polynomials it gets WAY more complicated than just using the quadratic equation. What Calc are you in?

Usually your best bet is to just distribute a factor throughout an entire function and take the derivative that way.
