OpenStudy (deoxna):

In a physics lab report, do you keep decimals consistent for ALL values? For example, I have a mass of 0.01 kg which we know has a weight of 0.0981 N, however, because the original measurement has 2 digits, must the weight also have 2 digits (0.10 N)? Also I'm calculating acceleration with distance with 2 digits and time with 3. Do I write acceleration with 2 digits?

OpenStudy (espex):

Typically, yes. You need to look into significant figures.

This is a chem lecture but the info is still good. http://www.chem.sc.edu/faculty/morgan/resources/sigfigs/index.html

OpenStudy (anonymous):
