does anyone know what a thinwall section is @Practical Drafting

OpenStudy (mathmate):

Are you referring to a structural steel section?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk this was just a word on our word list and i cant find it in the glossary

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its a part in a wall that is relatively thin to the other parts of the wall

OpenStudy (mathmate):

Does HSS mean anything to you? Are you doing architecture or civil drawings?

OpenStudy (mathmate):

In architecture, that would probably be Lagrange's explanation. In civil engineering drawing, a thin-wall section is a structural steel section which is listed in the AISC handbook/catalog for builging columns, beams, trusses, etc.
