#35 "A person hired a firm to build a CB radio tower. The firm charges $100 for labor for the first 10 feet. After that, the cost of the labor for each succeeding 10 feet is $25 more than the preceding 10 feet. That is, the next 10 feet will cost $125, the next 10 feet will cost $150, etc. How much will it cost to build a 90-foot tower?"

OpenStudy (gsx):

100+125+150+175+200+225+250+275+300=1800

Im getting the answer 300

OpenStudy (anonymous):

• This sequence is: (arithmetic or geometric). • The cost to build the tower is

OpenStudy (gsx):

Maybe i didn't understand the question right. i though that first 10 ft = $100 second 20 ft =$125 So a tower of 20 ft would cost $225.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

After this can i ask a question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The sequence is arithmetic, because the next term of the sequence is equal to the previous term plus a constant.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay but my instructor is asking for a introduction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And that confusses me

OpenStudy (gsx):

If the answer is 300 then the second 10 ft costs 25 so a tower of 20 ft would be 125 if y= cost and x=length then y(x)= 100+ 25((x/10)-1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so the sequence is:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(arithmetic or geometric

OpenStudy (gsx):

I don't know these terms so i cant help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have it as a arithmetic
