Food taken in by living organisms can be broken down and used to? break down ATP molecules build ATP molecules from ADP break the bonds in starch molecules build starch molecules from glucose

OpenStudy (blues):

Build ATP molecules from ADP or build starch molecules from glucose. Upon digestion, the food is broken down into its individual glucose units which are taken up by the cells. Then, depending on the cell's current energy needs, the glucose units either go through glycolysis and the TCA cycle, the net result of which is ATP from ADP or - if the cell doesn't need energy - they're stored either as starch (in plant cells) or glycogen (in animal cells). Slightly ambiguous question.
