Has anyone taken 6.001 "Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs"? Would it be a good follow up to 6.00? What do you gain that is useful out of the class? Is "Scheme" something that I might use in the future? Thanks for any advice.
I have the same question. Only having learned a little python through this lecture series and others i'm not qualified to answer but the CS community at large seems to believe that Scheme is definitely worth knowing. I suppose you would first have to tell people what you want to use any programming language for.
Interesting. I should have googled it first. Seems very valuable. I guess my question come back to the original one... What is the next best step? 6.001 @ MIT or Programming Abstractions/Paradigms @ Stanford. The latter two seem easier and smaller steps... 6.001 seems like a serious investment...
Yes it is the first year class at MIT. I think the concepts that you learn are more important and can be applied to any language. To me worth the extra effort of this class. But, I have just begun it while finishing this one.
Sounds great. I think that's the way I'm going to doit as well. It seems it would provide a better breadth of understanding... Thanks guys!
