Does Newton's Raphson Method solve equations of aX^2 + bX + c? Help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[y_0-\frac{y(x)}{y'(x)}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y'(x)= 2ax+b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes but lets say: Y0 = f(x) = (an polynomial equation) e.g.\[x^2 + 3x +c\] can this equation solve because of \[x^2\]? or have to be \[x^3 or x^4 or x^5\] etc?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it could be any degree, newton method can handle non-linear functions

hm ok thank u a lot!
