OpenStudy (waheguru):

what is the volume im getting 6.9

OpenStudy (waheguru):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

find area of that triangle first

OpenStudy (waheguru):

volume not area

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It has to equal 2.3 * 4.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to get volume you need to find triangle's area

OpenStudy (waheguru):

can u explain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, to find volume, you first need to find area of the triangle. It is 2.3 sq units. Then, multiply that area by the length of the shape to get volume. = 2.3 * 4.5 cubic units.

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

you are right

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

6,9

OpenStudy (waheguru):

but i thought it was 1/3 height x area of base

OpenStudy (waheguru):

1/3( height x area of base)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That may be for a different shape. :-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Don't rely on random formulas. Think about the shape in question and figure out the right way to compute the volume.

OpenStudy (waheguru):

it says it is for a pyramid

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The shape is not a pyramid.

OpenStudy (waheguru):

oh what is it???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It does not matter what it is. The shape's volume needs to be setup as area of that triangle multiplied over its length.

OpenStudy (waheguru):

oh thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

area of ground multiplied by height, so it can be any form even figure with n-sides
