Why are vitamins important to enzymes and what is this relationship called?

Vitamins are part of a broader class of molecules called cofactors. These are small, independent, sometimes inorganic molecules which associate with enzymes in order for the enzymes to maintain their structures. I think the word the question is looking for is an "allosteric relationship."
