Explain how to find the LCM of two or more numbers

lcm = lowest common multiple
one way is to factor them into primes - an example is

lcm of 6 and 10

6 = 2 x 3
10 = 2 x 5

the 2 is common to both - so we only use 2 once to get the lcm
lcm = 2 *3*5 = 30

Find lcm of 6 . 8 and 20

6 = 2 x 3
8 = 2 x 2 x 2
20 = 2 x 2 x 5

the 2 is common to all 3 - so we use only one of these 2's, and only one 2 of the pair (in 8 and 20):

lcm = 2 x 2 x 2 x 3 x 5 = 120
