can someone explain inductive and deductive reasoning plz.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In an inductive problem, you look at a bunch of examples of things, and formulate a conjecture (that explains all the examples). Then you use deductive reasoning to prove the conjecture (or disprove it, in which case you can look at more examples and come up with new conjectures).

thanks for the help could u go more in dept

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Deductive reasoning arrives at a specific conclusion based on generalizations. Inductive reasoning takes events and makes generalizations :)
