There is now a move towards Internet college credit from a branch of MIT. That would make sense for a topic like elementary mechanics where you either know it or you don't. But consider Harvard Medical School, which posted their full curriculum. Would you let an Internet-only graduate treat you? Consider the Japanese model, where mere admission to one of the top seven schools is the main credential. Is that true of MIT?

There is no MD that will be working on a patient without extensive time in practicum and a long residency. I don't know that have too much of a problem with it.

Read the MITx article and it clearly states they're going to certify in only some subjects and the certifying entity will be distinct and separate from MIT. As for your reference to e-med school, that's like arguing jumbo shrimp is huge. Maybe one day someone can go to e-med school, but we don't have that level of A.I. yet, or do we? Anyone from the pentagon want to answer that? lol.
