In the Arctic Ocean, there are very few large aquatic plants. Which of the following best explains why? 1. Currents are too strong for plants to survive. 2. Plants are unable to attach to the deep sea floor. 3. Plants have a difficult time surviving due to long periods of darkness. 4. Sea ice increases the salinity of the water to a level not suitable for plants.

i think option 3. Because on the name of plants only and only phytoplanktons are found there and also they struggle in winters when there is no sunlight.

Smallish floating plants algae, phytoplankton, do very well and are essential photosynthesizers regardless of currents. I don't see the relevance of darkness; they couldn't be deep and still photosynthesize. there is a photic zone. Plants in estuaries have adaptations for salt environments. I think it is b/c they can't attach to the ocean floor. All ocean plants float.
