how do i find the LCD of the fraction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well an easy way is to list all the multiples of each denominator and stop when you find one they have in common.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for example, 1/4 and 1/5. The multiples of 4 are 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24... The multiples of 5 are 5, 10, 15, 20 25... They have 20 in common. Multiplying the two together will always give you *a* common denominator, but not necessarily the *least* common denominator.
