How many egg cells (ova) are produced in females when one diploid cell enters gametogenesis?
interesting question. :-) I can't answer that with a number, though. During embryonal development, germ cells are built that wander into the ovary. At this point, they are about 500.000. Now, depending on certain factor which I sadly can't name exactly, they undergo mitotic division until they are between 700.000 and 2.000.000 in number. now, each of these primary follicles undergoes two meiotic cell divisions - and maturing phases inbetween. theoretically, 4 ova would result from that. BUT: since in general, 3 of those 4 polar bodies don't mature to an ovum, the answer could also be "one" and wouldn't be false. so it really matters whether you want to talk theory or practice.
one egg cell comes from the female gametogenesis, as opposed to the male gametogenesis where four sperm cells are created. This is because the ova needs a large amount of cytoplasm to sustain the rapid division of the cell that occurs after fusion with the sperm cell forming the zygote. So the amount of egg cells created is sacrificed for the size of the created egg cell.
Is it 8?
not in all u can ay it is 8 it depends
Bahut acha answer.
:P read above ans u can get ur querries clear
Yeah. doing that.
depends on the species. Humans generally have one mature cell and three polar bodies to account for the four gametes that should be produced by meiosis.
