How do you start calculus?

I'm not sure exactly what you mean. Here is the recorded lecture for the first course offered through MIT's OCW: http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/mathematics/18-01-single-variable-calculus-fall-2006/video-lectures/lecture-1-derivatives/ Here are the lecture notes: http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/mathematics/18-01-single-variable-calculus-fall-2006/lecture-notes/lec1.pdf

Learn trigonometry and algebra. See courses: Nixty.com for good video lectures and basics. There are also nice video lectures from Khan Academy that could help you get started. These are also on nixty.com. If your algebra and trig are solid, then proceed on to MIT's single variable calculus course page. And then ask questions. Hope this helps.

You can try Calculus revisited course by Prof. Herbert Gross. There are video lectures, notes to help you. Out of all professors I listened, he is the best at introducing mathematical concepts. Here is the link: http://ocw.mit.edu/resources/res-18-006-calculus-revisited-fall-2010/ Also, try to understand from both Geometric(from graphs) and Analytical points of view. One more great resource is the text by Michael Spivak He starts from numbers and covers until calculus. The text is complete and gives a comprehensive point of view to whatever math you learned so far. Here is the text: Calculus Michael Spivak (Author) http://www.amazon.com/Calculus-Michael-Spivak/dp/0914098896 ISBN-10: 0914098896 ISBN-13: 978-0914098898
