rephrase the question please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When life form die, their remains are broken down by which of decomposers Why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Decomposers consume dead plants and animals inorder to feed themselfs, in turn their waste is used as fertilizer to help other life forms to thrive.

What class are you working on right now paryrainbow?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The main decomposers on the planet are bacteria and fungi. They utilize these materials because they are readily available and many other life forms lack the ability to break these substances down thus providing them with a unique advantage. For example in the carboniferous period nothing could break down lignin which is a plant material, this caused all the plant life to just fall over and fossilize into coal. Eventually a fungus came around and figured out a way to break down the lignin and convert it into energy. Fun fact by burning coal we are returning the CO2 levels in our atmosphere back to what they were prior to the carboniferous period

These fungi that were able to break down the lignin were afforded great advantage as they had an abundant source of energy that no other organism could tap into.
