Just wondering, is it possible to sort the questions based on activity? Sometime an old but interesting question might receive an answer but only the participants of the thread gets notification.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no but as i suggested it might be better to make that when someone replies that post goes up or you could have 2 modes "newest questions" and "active question"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Exactly this is my point.

Hehe. We actually had this a long time ago (about a year ago!), and it turned out it didn't work super-well. The biggest problem with this is that you need to move questions around live as people update them and such. It gets pretty annoying, and also quite difficult to manage from a technical perspective (though also fun hehe).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

make separate list which doesn't auto update everytime only once when opened

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

But then it's accurate once and never again. That's the downside of a real-time site like ours: if you say a given sort order is a certain thing, it needs to stay that way as live changes happen.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

everyone could use normal list as it is now and if they want they can use that one if it's so hard to implement to be automatically updated

OpenStudy (blues):

Would it work to have some sort of way that users could archive a good question or a question with a good response? If the archive were searchable - say by keyword like "Finite Differences" or "Galerkin's Method" or "PDE" - then people could look up questions to see if they've already been answered before posting them and waiting for a response

yeah it was suggested and they said they will do something (it means i don't remember) :D
