JH is a midsegment of triangle QRS. What is the length of HS?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you draw the figure, if there is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

From your figure, RH=HS

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I guess we shouldn't be deceived by the figure. But just a fool's guess though, I believe RH=HS, since the problem has stated that it is a MIDsegment. Therefore, segment JH must be at the middle of the triangle, that would then divide segment RS into 2. Just a guess though. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, if there is just one more value given, then this can be easily solved using proportionality method. (Congruency of the triangle)

OpenStudy (aroub):

No you both are correct!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk so is the answer HS

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sercczionelabus means similarity and ratio he is talking about is 1:2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so wuts the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2.5 ft.

thanx

Sure, no problem.
