What is the meaning of "driven force"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In what context? Do you mean "driving force"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The inhomogeneous term F(t) represents an external driven force Ax''(t)+Bx'(t)+Cx=F(t).

That should be driving. It means that the system is being "driven" by some outside influence. Imagine a child on a swing who is being pushed from behind by a parent -> the parent is the driving force.
