This question really confuses me... please, i need help!
csc a + sec a / sin a + cos a = 1/sin a + 1 /cos a ---------------- sin a + cos a = cos a + sin a 1 ----------- * ------ sin a + cos a sin a cos a = 1 / sin a cos a
- thats not one of options!!!???
maybe (b) is wrong?
i'm certain that the above is correct
1 + tan^2 a = 1 + sin^2a/ cos^2 a --------- ----------------- sin a / cos a tan a = 1 cos a 1 --- * ------- = ---- cos^a sin a sin a cos a which is same answer as in last post so correct option is 1 + tan^2 a --------- tan a Option c
there might be an easier way to do this!!! but i'm sure this is a correct way
u sill there?
yes! sorry i was taking a break...headache. I really appreciate you putting so much effort into this. I'll take a look at it now!
so i see you use the reciprocal identities..
yes - change every ratio into sines and cosines and obtained 1/sin a cos a from the original expression and from option (c) its like if a = c and b = c then a must be = b these trig identities can be tricky but changing everything to sines and cosines often works
i know - they can gives you headaches!!
yes they are tricky. I'm usually good at math but my teacher is never helping so i'm so lost!! i still have 2 questions left that i cannot solve.
and they involve these identities. So thank you for helping me out!
no probs - must go now - its late here in uk - 1:20 am good luck!
alright bye!
