Recommend me a good math movie that is not the superb "A Beautiful Mind" nor that one of the boy who shoots up rockets. Also, I don't like psychological thrillers (\(\pi\), anyone?).\[\]:3
I wouldn't call "A Beautiful Mind" superb, but okay.
You can't deny the music was amazing, though. :3
"Good Will Hunting"
I haven't heard of that one before. I'll give it a look!
Moneyball if you want most recent.
Batman is a classic.

"Moneyball" sounds interesting... maybe i'll learn something... :P
How have you not heard of Good Will Hunting across?
21 is awesome I think
AMG you hadn't heard of Good Will Hunting? SUCH A GOOD MOVIE. Also has amazing music (some of the best work of the late Elliott Smith, in my opinion). Better, I think, than both A Beautiful Mind (which I love) and October Sky, which I think is the other one you're talking about. Moneyball is not really that mathematical, though there's a bit of brief mention. While it isn't a film, if you can find a production of Arcadia being put on near you (a play by Tom Stoppard), it is very much based around math (it's about a girl in the early 1800s who is essentially a mathematical genius) and deeper concepts (past/future and a few other things). In a similar vein, Proof is a play that won the Pulitzer Prize and was also excellent. A movie was made in 2005 starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Jake Gyllenhaal; I haven't seen it, but it's a solid story and again rooted in math. Searching for Bobby Fischer is not purely based on math, but it has intellect as a central theme, since it's about one of the greatest chess players of all time. Contact has a mathematical core with astronomical and sci-fi spokes, it is also a fantastic fantastic movie (one of my favorite sci-fi films of all time). Stand and Deliver, with Edward James Olmos, is a great movie about a bunch of inner city kids whose teacher elevates them from being terrible students in an AP calculus class to performing quite well on the eventual AP exam. Worth a watch.
I saw that movie searching for bobby fischer ;D a good movie for chess lovers like me
