A cylinder is inscribed in a cube. If the edge of the cube is 3" long, find the volume of the cylinder. ? pi cu. in

OpenStudy (amistre64):

lets see; 3" = a radius of 1.5 area of a circle = pi r^2 and volume would be the a multiple of the 3" again to get the height

OpenStudy (amistre64):

so; height*area of circle = volume of sylinder

OpenStudy (amistre64):

... thats the french spelling lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

??? um i dont qet it, can u juss tell the the answer? im very new to this

OpenStudy (amistre64):

telling you the answer will not allow you to "get it" either

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok but i dont kno what ^ is

OpenStudy (amistre64):

thats keyboard notation for raised to a power

OpenStudy (amistre64):

r^2 means: radius squared

OpenStudy (amistre64):

x^3 : x cubed n^5: n to the 5th

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 3.14 x 1.5^2

OpenStudy (amistre64):

yep; times the height of the cube as well

OpenStudy (anonymous):

huh lol
