What enzyme makes it less likey that DNA will be lost from the telomeres during replication? How does this enzyme work?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The Telomerase enzyme Wikipedia has a nice picture of how it works and a nice summary of it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telomerase In short, the enzyme works by enlongating the 3' strand DNA at the telomere with the help of complementing RNA, and after that one is elongated a DNA polymerase fills in the other strand. However I strongly suggest you look at the picture in the wikipedia article and see for yourself.
