The government of a rural city wants to build an electrical energy plant. While brainstorming for possible resources to use, the planners made a list as shown of some requirements and aspects of the city's location that restrict what type of power plant can be built. 1. The power plant must provide a clean source of energy. 2. The energy source must be renewable. 3. The city is rural so the facility can cover a large area. 4. The city is in a plains region with high winds. 5. The city is close to a swift river.
Which power source is the best option for the city to use in order to comply with the restrictions listed? a. Hydropower since it is clean and uses the river's flow. b. Geothermal power since it is clean and uses the river for heat. c. Nuclear power since it is clean and uses the river for cooling. d. Wind power since it is clean and uses the wind's flow.
i have no idea, they all sound good
3. The city is rural so the facility can cover a large area. 4. The city is in a plains region with high winds. I think these two clues hints that the ideal power plant should be wind farm, of course you have a hydroplant, but wind power may be able to produce more power since the river has limited area of effect.
Geothermal doesn't use river for heat, uses the earth's magma, Nuclear power isn't always clean but can use the river to cool.
so b, c is out, so which is it?
Wind power
yea they have land for it and its clean, that great thanks
