what is the equation for horizontal velocity?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are we talking about projectile motion where we neglect air-resistance and no forces act in the horizontal direction? Unless we narrow it down, there are infinite number of equations.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes neglect air resistance i am looking for a simple one using time in air, horizontal distance, and vertical distance

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. If we launch an object at some initial velocity, we can use the equations of projectile motion. Since there is no acceleration in the horizontal direction, and gravity is the only acceleration in the vertical direction. Take a look here for the equations that govern projectile motion: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Projectile_motion
