I am applying for a freelance writer at Academia-Research and I'm required to submit on the topic: "There is no hope for doing perfect research", but I did not quite understand the following instructions:

I think so Mam Laura. I think the instructions are sequential. If I can't understand the first, I might not have understood those that follow.

Ok, well the first is to use the link to make sure you understand the requirements of academic writing. Keep that open while you're doing your writing sample.

You also need to have at least two sources to cite when answering the topic. The topic came from something by griffiths. Hopefully you have the original article to help.

The sample needs to be 2-3 pages in the stated format.

The topic is "there is no hope of doing research." so you need to research that topic and have a compelling essay.

The key word to the topic is "perfect." What are the challenges to conducting perfect research? What defines perfect research----is it the ability to completely replicate a research experiment and produce the exact same results? Food for thought.

First read chapter 6 of Educational research for social justice: getting off the fence by Morwenna Griffiths so you have some context to go by. Formulate an opinion about whether or not you agree with Griffiths statement that there is no hope of doing perfect research.

Then research some other articles (preferably peer-reviewed and at least 2) on the subject of research, perfect research, or other aspects that you gained from the context of chapter 6. Find at least two examples that support your opinion. Also, try to find one argument against your opinion if you can. This will lend more credibility to your essay by showing that you are not just being biased.

Formulate a thesis statement using your opinion, one or both of the arguments supporting your opinion and the argument against your opinion.

Write and introduction, three paragraphs (one for each supporting and unsupporting argument), and a conclusion.

Proofread it well. Have others proofread it for you. (Read it backwards if you have to. Believe it or not this works.)

Turn it in.
