Opinion Question (I'm trying to help a friend): In the age of paper resumes it was always etiquette to only use one page. Now that most resumes are submitted electronically is it acceptable to submit a resume that is longer than one page?
It actually depends on the company. I was required to submit more than 5 pages for game company in Sydney, Australia. Moreover, I think the most important factor to be accepted is your friend's qualification. Good luck for your friend!
I haven't had a resume that could fit on one page for 15 years or more, and there's been no problem with that in my industry. One of my nieces is submitting a nearly three-page CV in her app for grad school. I haven't heard that a resume has to be limited to one page for ages. But then, I do not write resumes for a living. Maybe try this question out with one of those resume-writing services? They would know. (If you can get a response without having to engage someone.) I would think though that if the writing is tight, the formatting clean, and the work relevant, a resume that went onto a second page would not be problematic.
