How do I expand and simplify (x+5)^10 (Using pascal's triangles)?

OpenStudy (king):

|dw:1326885599969:dw| and so on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but how do I simplify it? like for ex. (5x +2y)^3 = 125x^3 + 150x^2y + 60xy^2 + 8y^3

OpenStudy (king):

ya and so u will get 1 7 21 35 35 21 7 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but isn't this for 10?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and 10, is: 1, 10, 45, 120, 210, 252, 210, 120, 45, 10, 1.

OpenStudy (king):

now for first number it will be x^7[these numbers are coefficients] and as u go on reduce the power of x and increase power of y so in this case the answer will be x^7+7x^6*5+21x^5*25+35x^4*125+35x^3*625+21x^2*3125+7x*15625+78125

OpenStudy (king):

notice that as u go further the power of x is decreasing and that of y in this case 5 is increasing...........

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, it is.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what equation is this??

OpenStudy (king):

x^7+35x^6+525x^5+4375x^4+21875x^3+65625x^2+109375x+78125.. This is the simplified version of the above ... it is (x+5)^7

OpenStudy (king):

oh!i misread the question i thought its power 7 not 10....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh, i see. thank you!!

OpenStudy (king):

can u do for power 10 on ure own?
