According to side inequality property of a triangle " THE SUM OF LENGTHS OF ANY TWO SIDES OF A TRIANGLE IS LESS THAN THE LENGTH OF THE THIRD SIDE" So, the trick for such questions is to add up the two shorter sides and see if their sum is greater than the third side or not. It the sum is greater than the longest side then triangle is possible otherwise not..
