Hi guys, do you know if shutting down my virtual machine will deallocate the RAM it consumes?

When a VM is powered off, its RAM is deallocated and cleared.  If the VM is only rebooted, this does not happen, the RAM stays allocated to the VM.
 
Also, if you stay logged into the console of hte Hyper-V Server for a long time (for example you RDP in, you do something with the Hyper-V console application, and yuou disconnect (not logging out)) you end up consuming more and more RAM over time.  This will prevent VMs from starting.
 
The way around this is to always logout of the Hyper-V Server if you are using its console to manage it.  This clears up the user session RAM and gives it back to the hypervisor. 
 
I have seen many folks get into this problem in this sceanario becuase they always just disconnect and don't log off.
