well but arent the western countries only interested in human rights violation in context of their national interest but are unconcerned and have even endorsed puppet rulers in the developing world?whats ur take on that

An ugly side of international politics and finance. Quite often the 'West' endorses one side/person rather than another for the 'better the devil you know' reason. And then the silent majority or quite often 'Minorities' are the ones to suffer. There is though a growing sense of outrage at these practices among the people of the West and they have been forcing their governments to mend their ways, a slow process with the potential for many mistakes on the way.

That was an interesting one as the view of violations concerned the evils of Communism on the country rather than the typical violations like repression, trial without jury, etc.
This was very much a political/military influence decision as the US needed a foothold in Indo-China. The continuance of corruption was of importance to the leaders of the south and this played into the American military mindset, turn a blind eye if we keep the Commies out.
