2 (3 x-4 y) (x+y)
Use http://www.wolframalpha.com if you continue to have more of these factoring questions. Simply type the function follow by factor. Such as 6x^2-2xy-8y^2 factor. 2 (3 x-4 y) (x+y) is the solution
First observe that 2 is a common factor;factor it out you get : \[2(3x^2 - xy - 4y^2)\] Further observe that the square variables form the product in between when their square root is taken, thus we take the extremes and put them together with a single degree as such : \[(3x - 4y)\] Then we multiply this by (x+y);plus because we have two negative terms. We put them together and we have our answer!
