How do you use a conversion factor to convert ft^2 into yd^2? In particular its asking for the number of feet squared in a yard squared.

OpenStudy (rogue):

1 yd = 3 ft 1 yd^2 = 9 ft^2 1 ft^2 = (1/9) yd^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

an easier way, so you don't have to memorize the squared conversions, is 1ft\[x ft^2 = (3ft/1yard )*(3ft/1yard)\]

look up dimensional analysis

Alright I think I get what you were doing but what was the "xft^2 suppose to be?
