To put it simply, a noun is a name of a person, place, thing, or idea while a verb is an action word (e.g. I {ran}, I {played} a game, She {is working})

Now, the issue is I'm not entirely sure on how you can describe or "explain" yourself with the use of these kinds of words. Not unless, of course, you list down things you like, what you're doing currently, things you enjoy, and things of the like. If you're trying to describe yourself, you should use adjectives. Interesting, that assignment didn't ask you to use adjectives? That seems the more natural candidate for describing yourself. To use nouns, you'd say things like "person" and "girl" and "student." To use verbs, you'd say things like "studies," "runs," "works hard." If you were allowed adjectives, you could say things like "studious," "athletic," and "hard-working." (Or whatever, those are just examples.) The noun category seems particularly limiting.
