What is the leading coefficient of this polynomial? F(x)=3x²-0.2x⁵+7x³

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-0.2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hehe i guess u shldnt take my answer for it but try this out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know I'm waiting for another answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what? it was wrong :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

LOL I guess i dont have luck today

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what coefficient? numerical or literal?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not sure doesn't say

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, the degree matters. the highest exponent or degree is 5,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ummm was i wrong? This what i had to do in skewl if i remember correctly. Th eleading coefficient had to be the coefficient of teh highest degree but i may be having memory failure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if the highest degree is 5, therefor the leadind coefficient is -0.2x^5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's both numerical and literal.. .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Actually, the leading coefficient is -0.2. In a polynomial, the coefficient of the term with the highest degree is called the leading coefficient.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

LOL at least i remember something. I was giving her all the wrong answers and I was feeling terrible

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ah I'm so confused so the answer is -0.2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes
