Does anyone know how to use the four step process to find f'(x) f(x)=7+7/x?

OpenStudy (kainui):

Instead of using the quotient rule, you can consider 7/x as \[7*(1/x) = 7x^{-1}\]So that now all you have to do is see that \[f'(x)=-7x^{-2}\]and all a negative sign means is that the number is in the denominator, so flip it back over again if you please to look like:\[f'(x)=-7/x^2\] Which matches exactly what the quotient rule would say.\[[(0*x)-(7*1)]/x^2\] This is a good test for checking to see if you did the quotient rule correctly on tests if you need to reprove it to yourself for more complicated problems by just doing it to a simpler problem.
