What are the domain and range of the function f(x)=5/x^2? Please help. I'm not quite sure what to do here.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can't divide by 0, so x can not equal 0

OpenStudy (nenadmatematika):

well you have a fraction 5/x^2...fraction is defined if and only if x^2 is not equal to zero which means x is not equal to zero so the domain is:\[x \in(-\infty,0)\cup(0,\infty)\] and about range...well you can see that 5/x^2 is always greater than zero (for any x from domain) so the range is y>0
