OpenStudy (katielong):

how do you do 4./5

OpenStudy (katielong):

\[4\sqrt{5}\]

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

= sqrt((16*5) = sqrt80

OpenStudy (katielong):

what does it mean? what does the 4 stand for?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

what do you wann to do with again ?

OpenStudy (katielong):

i dont understand why the 4 is there and what it all means or how too solve it :L

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

sqrt sign squareroot what you can writing like exponent too in the form of sqrt(x) = x^(1/2)

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so when there is 4sqrt5 so this sign that you can put inside squarrott the number 4 if you make the 4 on exponent 2 what is 16 and now if you take it inside squarroot there will get 5*16 =80

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Initially it would've been \[\sqrt{80}\] which can be written as \[\sqrt{16\times5}\] since we know dat the \[\sqrt{16}\] is 4, then it can be written as \[4\sqrt{5}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u get it right? i mean if u dnt i'll try something simpler

OpenStudy (katielong):

no thats perfect, thanks :)
