lim as h -> 0 of (1/4+h - 1/4) / h... Im having issues simplifying 1/4+h - 1/4...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the 1/4's subtract to give 0. leaving h/h = 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks... but how do the 1/4's subtract? the first is 1/4+h....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(1/4+h - 1/4) is exactly how it is written. right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its not ((1/4+x)-(1/4))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well the original question is lim h -> 0 of ((1/4+h) - 0.25)/h... I turned the 0.25 into a fraction to make it easier to simplify

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so its not gonna be 1 then. hold on.
