2x/(x^2-36) + (x+4)/(x+6) = 2x / (x + 6)(x -6) + (x+4)/(x+6) =
2x /[ (x + 6)(x -6)] + [ (x-6) (x+4)] /[ (x-6)(x+6)] =
The denominators are the same now. Add numerators. The second fraction was multiplied by (x-6)(x-6) which = 1.
Numerator: 2x + [ (x-6) (x+4)] = x^2 - 24
Denominator: [ (x-6)(x+6)]
