OpenStudy (anonymous):

If something is hot, does it contain heat or thermal energy? neither heat only thermal energy only either one because they are the same thing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Heat is energy produced or transferred. Thermal energy is the total internal energy of a system, or the statistical mean of microscopic kinetic energy. If something is hot, generally speaking, it's high in thermal energy.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, it will have thermal energy. Because when a body get heated its electron start moving faster which creates thermal energy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not just the electrons. The atoms themselves increase in kinetic energy and thus velocity due to the kinetic theory of temperature.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes , as the electron start moving faster speed they posses kinetic energy.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ajay gautam , when electrons move faster it contains K.E and not thermal energy.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@MugeesULkaisar Check your physics, electron having Kinetic energy will have thermal too, it is its property. As sunlight contains both light energy(partical nature) and heat energy(wave nature)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i knw that, bt u shud have another look on the question posed, !
