Write a statement logically equivalent to "If Jeff passes Math, then he will be very happy." I wrote: Jeff will not be very happy, if doesn't pass Math
jeff will be happy if he passes math
If Jeff is not happy, he has not passed maths.
How?? I dont think thats right
Its the contropositive right? Btw that was to ninja
It is. If he is not happy it is not possible that he passed math as then he would be happy, contradiction...
No...THIS IS LOGIC. There are rules :|
Your answer is unfortunately not quite right, he could be happy but not have passed math
He will not be very happy, if Jeff does not pass math.
So I am correct?
yep
No. It is still possible for Jeff to be very happy if he does not pass. It is an implied not an implied and implied by
Jeff will be happy, if he passes maths?
THIS IS LOGIC. NO IMPLICATION I NEEDED it is the contropositive doesnt have to be true...just equivenlent
If you wanna keep the truth value the same, you look for the contrapositive. You get the contrapositive by flipping it, and negating both things. I am right.. I know because I studied this in geometry and I got a 100 on the geometry state exam... take my word for it.

Spencer I am certain you are wrong. To make a sentence equivelant it has to be controposivtive not if and only if.
rspencer, I get what you're saying, but this is a "if.. then" statement not a "if and only if" statement.
dont you just take the first clause and swap it with the second, or soming like that
Switch and negate :P
If I like pie, then I'll buy pie = I'll not buy pie, if I don't like pie.
Jeff won't be happy, if he fails math.
IDK what im doin ¯\(°_o)/¯
Heyy wheres my medal ;)
