Is there an environmental engineer I can speak with? =D or even just someone studying environmental engineering?
yaa.. i m studying civil engineering course which includes environmental engg.
oms! that is so cool whats environmental engineering like? I'm working my bum off to reach my dream I just need to know what its like I dont want to be disappointed... its between biocemical and environmental.
u cn say as environmental probs r increasing it is a global topic nw... its very gd to take it jst u hve 2 understand things & see it practically by visiting sites & interest will be developed...it has 3 principal areas water, air, solid waste management.hve the basic principle knowledge about it surely go 4 it.its basically our interaction with the environment & nature & its concerns & impact. for more info u cn see ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING by PEAVY & ROWE book. de book i m using.
In which year are you? I doing my PhD in Bioinformatics, that's information engineering with biology and biochemistry. In information engineering we analyse large amounts of datasets that might come from any source. That's why we mostly work with other fields of engineering and science in inter-disciplinary projects.
Im only going to start next year unfortunately. =) Youre SO lucky, What is it like is it like really hard or humanly possible? =D I considered studying biochemical engineering but environmental is more my thing=)
Hehe, nothing which has been achieved by any human being is not "humanly possible" :P What I do is different than biochemical engineering. Anyway, because you are still a baby engineer ;) for any engineering discipline, you need to be good in mathematics and problem solving. Engineering is all about designing solutions to the problems that we face. Different engineering areas look at different problems and by using different ways. So focus on developing your ways of THINKING and everything else should follow smoothly. Good luck :)
Maths, Oh man so its true. lol=P Im actually quite ok with math atm i like the term baby engineer =D lol But thanks for your advice teenage- senior engineer- appreciate it =P Did you write a 3rd maths paper in order to study engineering? And do you really need like 80%-above average for both math and science in order to study engineering? Sorry im using 'engineering' too much now i just love it lol 8)
I am not aware about the differences between countries in that. I am from Jordan and I've done my BSc in Computer Engineering in there (I am now in the UK). We had to have at least 80% in total in the scientific branch of high school to be eligible to compete for the engineering positions at the universities. If you are from the USA or wherever, you should know better about your own system :)
And engineering is great, yeah you should be enjoying using the word too much. I don't think that engineering lovers would ever feel bored of it ;)
