an elecromagnet is a ( permanent, temperary ) magnet.
An electromagnet is a manmade device that acts almost exactly like a natural magnet. It has north and south poles that attract and repel north and south poles on natural magnets. It can attract certain kinds of of metals to it. The primary differences between an electromagnet and a natural magnet are the materials each is made of and the fact that when an electromagnet's power is switched off it loses its magnetic abilities, according to the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory.
(permanent or temperary)
its an temporary
temporary. it is a magnet as long as connected to electicity and non magnet when not
An electromagnet is just a magnet that is controlled by electricity. Just like everything else run by electricity, the moment you pull out the cord from your computer, turn off your lightswitch, or drop your cellphone into the lake, it stops being a magnet. So it's really not that complicated to see why it's called a temporary magnet! =D
