1. Which of the following is not an example of external conflict? (1 point)Brian is torn between choosing to move to a new city or stay where things are familiar. Danielle has been separated from her research team in the jungle and must find her way back to camp. Staci’s best friend has started leaving nasty notes on her desk at school. Tom has uncovered a secret about a respected businessman, but everyone in town refuses to listen to him

trelbug, are you clear on why? Do you see what disqualifies the other items, on one or the other (or both) of the two essential points? Carmelo, the idea of OpenStudy is for us all to be studying together -- to be encouraging thought, not simply handing out answers. I don't know whether you've noticed the updated Code of Conduct that makes this policy more explicit? If we simply swap the answers with one another -- such that everyone never learns anything more than they already know -- nobody is really helping anybody here.

You have a great point RedWood. I actually had another addition to mine I added a few minutes after the first but my dying computer seems to have not saved it. I agree with you on the matter and will try to make sure I explain every answer I post. Trelbug, if you are still in need of the answer I would be happy to explain why it would be Brian.

Oh, I hate when that happens! Losing all that work . . . Yes, I think we need to be alert to explaining concepts. There are some questions (how do I cite a website in APA style, for example) for which simply supplying the info is entirely appropriate. But when the questions tap into skills that students need to develop, I think we have to help teach them to fish, if you know what I mean. (And that's a lot more fun anyway. :)

I should say also that as you're a writer, you have a lot to teach us all. I love reading a really great response to a question having to do with any aspect of writing -- in a really great response, I learn something too.

when i actually typed it i was typing to see if my answer was correct and i had a star on the one i thought was correct because i was confused in this class but I just submitted it anyway and i got a 100 ! :) anyways i completely understand i wasn't looking for someone to tell me an answer:) thank you so much though;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, okay, excellent then! With so many others, that's not the case, so those of us who are here a lot tend to be on the lookout for the whole "quick answer" thing. This one was a good question as well. Potentially food for great discussion.

lol yea i understand:) thanks so much though!:)
