let me show u

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

\[\frac{x+2}{15}+\frac{3-x}{5}=\frac{2}{3}\]first step is to get a common denominator \[\frac{x+2}{15}+\frac{3\times(3-x)}{15}=\frac{5\times(2)}{15}\] we can then multiply both sides of the equation by 15 and the denominators will go away \[x+2+3\times(3-x)=5\times2\] simplifying \[x+2+9-3x=10\]\[11-2x=10\]\[11-10=2x\]\[1=2x\]\[1/2=x\]

follow @UnkleRhaukus he has done it very nicely and step-wise ^_^
